Clay Tile Liners

It is difficult to retrofit clay tile liners into an existing chimney; especially if it is an old chimney. Clay tile liners are inexpensive but the installation is work intensive and adds significant cost. Clay tile liners will be damaged during a chimney fire.

Stainless Steel and Aluminum Liners

A stainless steel liner is preferred and they are good for woodburning, gas, or oil applications. Aluminum liners are less expensive than steel liners but have limited applications, can be easily damaged during installation, are thin and liable to piercing, and are not easily cleaned.
